Hamster-Hamper

As you probably know, it was Christmas a few days ago, and as all creepy pet lovers do, I made up a little hamster-hamper of fruit and veg for Alfie on Christmas eve, as a sort-of present. This was an overly indulgent hamper, contained in a plastic take-away tub, filled to the brim with lettuce, carrot, apple, grape, parsley stalks, cheddar cheese and Jacobs cream crackers. (The last two were very special treats, only given occasionally!).

I suppose it’s a cheaper way of letting your pet take part in the festive season without spending ridiculous amounts on shop-bought “stockings” aimed at the vulnerable rodent-lover! Needless to say, it was devoured over the course of two nights, preventing me from taking any pictures to show you guys. However, his birthday is coming up on the 3rd of March, so there’ll be a few more hamster-hampers to come!

Otherwise, nothing has happened in hamster world recently, to tell the truth. Look out for my page(s) on hamster health, that I’m struggling to write. There is so much to know, not even an expert in the field would know every little disease! But they still make great pets folks!

My more light-hearted posts, I fear, may be coming to an end, with no Pip (my roborovski hamster) to fuel my weird ideas about hamster clothing and holidays. Maybe some day, I shall get another robo or two to help re-kindle those posts.

Well, my friends, until the next time, see you all soon and don’t indulge your hammies too much over this winter break!
