Hello everyone, hope the new year is going well so far! You may have noticed my absence for a while, but here’s just a quick post to fill you in on what’s been going on in The Hamster Place world!
Unfortunately, in late 2013, we lost Alfie, my first Syrian hamster, and a beloved pet. I won’t go into the details, but he had gotten sick, and eventually had to be put down. While this was a dark time at Hamster Place, it was also an informative experience, and one which I hope to share with you on the site, to help you, if you happen to go through a similar situation.
However it’s not all doom and gloom! The Hamster Place family is delighted to welcome its newest member, Seamus! Seamus (pronounced shay-muss) is a black and white male Syrian hamster. He has a skittish, excitable, and ultimately delightful personality, that will hopefully bring joy to the site, and he might teach me a thing or two as well!
Pictures and updates are soon to follow of the new co-owner of the site, with his new page! While we miss Alfie terribly, Seamus promises to help lift our spirits and make caring and playing with your pet hamster even more exciting and wonderful than it was before!
This post is dedicated to Alfie, my first wonderful Syrian hamster.
